Time and time again, it becomes necessary to cover one tattoo with another. In some cases, the existing tattoo is reworked, and in others, the old tattoo is covered with a new motif.

In many cases, the old tattoo should be homogenous with the new arrangement as part of a partial cover-up, and must therefore be partially covered with new ink.

I like working with existing material, and consider it a challenge to make old pieces disappear or integrate them properly into the cover-up.

An important note: as opposed to a tattoo on bare skin, I must have a little more freedom with cover-ups in order to use every spot optimally for the new design. Often, the cover-up will take up more space than the tattoo it is concealing.
